Ren Xinwei Zheng is a producer, director, and writer based in Los Angeles with a background in both creative filmmaking and the business side of the entertainment industry. Her work explores metaphysical intimacy and symbolic storytelling, often using minimalist yet emotionally charged settings to examine identity, shame, and desire.

She is technically trained in color grading and virtual production, with hands-on experience in SDR/HDR workflows, tone mapping, and look development, as well as Unreal Engine, real-time rendering, and LED volume integration. Her hybrid expertise bridges post-production and pre-visualization, allowing her to shape cinematic language across physical and digital environments.

After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Zheng deepened her industry knowledge by working in the marketing and distribution department at Highland Film Group, an independent film sales and finance company. There, she participated in international film market research, analyzed audience data, and helped strategize release and positioning plans for independent films across theatrical and streaming platforms.

Ren's awards include, but are not limited to, the Best Indie Short award at the IndieX Film Fest and the esteemed Best Student Film Grand Jury Award at the New York International Film Awards in 2021. Additionally, her work has been recognized with honors such as Best Drama at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival and Best Student Film at the Los Angeles Film Awards, with an Honorable Mention for Directing. She has also received Best Experimental and Best Young Director recognitions at the Oniros Film Awards and the Five Continents International Film Festival. Her films have graced the screens of the Producer’s Club in NYC.
